Jia Xiufang: 'Caring Mother' Shoulders Social ResponsibilityOctober 23, 2023
Jia, a delegate to the 13th National Women's Congress of China, is an entrepreneur engaged in automobile sales, vocational education and medical rehabilitation. Rather than being referred to as a woman entrepreneur, Jia prefers to be called a "caring mother." For more than 20 years, Jia has given back to society, with her great love and good deeds. Since 2000, she has donated 10-30 percent of her annual business profits to charity, and that money has helped provide long-term support to veterans, the elderly who live alone, sanitation workers, single mothers, and families and children in difficulty.
Jia has been named a national model worker, a National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter, a national women's achievements pacesetter, and a national advanced individual helping the disabled. She has also received the May 1 Labor Medal of Heilongjiang Province. Jia was also a delegate to the 12th National Women's Congress of China. As she looks back on the past five years, she says being a delegate to the National Women's Congress has been a heavy responsibility, because "women delegates should do many practical things."
Jia focuses on guiding students to respect and care for their parents, love their country, and love society. She also guides students to study and implement General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping's discourses on the importance of family, family education and virtues, and to understand only when thousands of households do well can the country and the nation do well. As she looks to the future, Jia plans to set up another rehabilitation center, for children with cerebral palsy and autism. She vows to do her utmost to help children recover.
